A Season of Hope
Isaiah 55:8 (KJB) For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.
The holiday season is more involved spiritually than what is presented often about the birth of Jesus Christ in this world.
What do I mean?
Take the many special church services, pageants, plays, the giving of gifts, dinner parties, crockpot get-togethers, or even the storyline in a musical staged drama, such as are about to play out on the stages of many churches, ... Continue Reading →

Hope Beyond Physical Death
2 Corinthians 5:1 (KJB) For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.
This verse from the book of 2 Corinthians contains lasting hope beyond physical death. You see, for genuine professing believers, death is not the end of the road. God did not place a period when life ceases to exist in this world physically.

I Hope So …
Romans 5:5 (KJB) And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.
“I hope so…” Making this statement means the person speaking is harboring some degree of uncertainty or doubt about a past or present circumstance or time to come in the future.
Being able to say “I know so…,” “I am sure…,” or “I am positive…” displays confidence and hope ... Continue Reading →

Faith is the Opposite of Doubt
Matthew 21:21 (KJB) Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done.
When a person has faith in God he or she is standing spiritually tall and strong in ... Continue Reading →

Nevertheless, At Thy Word
Luke 5:4-5 (KJB) Now when he had left speaking, he said unto Simon, Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught. 5 And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net.
Jesus had just concluded teaching a crowd of people. He approached Simon, who was a fisherman by trade, to command him to ... Continue Reading →

Faith and Fear Go Hand in Hand
Hebrews 11:1 (KJB) Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
Faith calls for you to place your trust in something that you cannot see but, none the less, you believe is real or spiritually substantial. A man can choose to place faith or fear into something that he cannot see but believes it is or will be real or tangible at some point in time.
Both ... Continue Reading →

Job Had Eternal Hope
Job 2:4-6 (KJB) And Satan answered the LORD, and said, Skin for skin, yea, all that a man hath will he give for his life. 5 But put forth thine hand now, and touch his bone and his flesh, and he will curse thee to thy face. 6 And the LORD said unto Satan, Behold, he is in thine hand; but save his life.
Satan implied any man would surely give up on God when his ... Continue Reading →

Spiritual Fruit in Any Season
Jeremiah 17:7-8 (KJB) Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is. 8 For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.
Man either has his trust placed upon ... Continue Reading →

Genuine Joy, Peace, and Hope Only Come from God
Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost. (Romans 15:13 KJV)
Hope and faith bundled with joy are essential in living Christ-like. Being down in the dumps or “out of sorts” is not a place for professing Christians to dwell. Gloominess should be only a temporary situation, or short-lived spiritual season in ... Continue Reading →
Hope thrives in the mercies of God otherwise mankind is “cooked well done” and spiritually depleted.
It is of the LORD’S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness. (Lamentations 3:22-23 KJV)
Jeremiah understood the great mercy of God first-hand and was inspired to write about a time of judgment and great mercy brought down upon God’s people. “It is of the LORD’S mercies that we are not ... Continue Reading →
