Flattery is Smooth and Risky

Psalm 55:21 (KJB) The words of his mouth were smoother than butter, but war was in his heart: his words were softer than oil, yet were they drawn swords.

Smooth words flowing from a mouth can be an attempt to camouflage a waring heart.  Be cautious of any person who perhaps tries to “smooth things over” using flattery for it can be an attempt to conceal conflict and depression at work in their heart.
