Do you have fruits of the Spirit mounting and maturing in your life?
They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate. (Titus 1:16 KJV)
It has been said that “talk is cheap…” and this scripture verse from the book of Titus is biblical proof. It is easier for mankind to profess having a spiritual relationship with God but much harder to prove it or back it up in action and spiritual loyalty, and displaying healthy fruits in their life from the Spirit while in this world.
To profess a relationship with Christ and put it into action means a person is dead to the things of the world and spiritually alive unto God through the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross. It means that the person is growing and maturing in all things of Christ in a process of crucifying all things in their life which are not of God but from the god of this world. It is feasting on spiritual cookies rather than starving on spoiled fruits from the god of this world. It is allowing the Holy Spirit to permeate their lives with His holiness and godliness as they sojourn in this world.
But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen. (2 Peter 3:18 KJV)
Growing into spiritual maturity is not an option but a commandment from God.
It has also been said by someone “the proof is in the pudding…” Is there any evidence in your life of the existence of the Holy Spirit working in you and through you maturing you spiritually; or does your life bare out spoiled fruits which are beginning to draw flies and rot?
