Can you imagine the intense luster and shine?
And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it. And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof. (Revelation 21:22-23 KJV)
These scriptures are describing the glorious heavenly realm and the fact that there will be no physical temple as we think of a temple as a building built here on earth but God Himself, in the Trinity. will be the temple.
Secondly, these verses clearly state that the glory of the Lord which brilliantly shines forth will be the light and there will be no need for a sun to shine. This verse describes the sheer magnitude and illuminating power of God. Now many people choose to describe this brilliance as His shekinah glory. The word shekinah, however, is not found in the Bible. It is a descriptive word which is rooted in Jewish tradition used in describing the glory of the Lord.
Honestly, I believe we have no earthly words or idea of the magnitude and brilliance of God as He sits upon His throne in heavenly realm. It will be like nothing found upon this earth. Many will be in awe one day as they first see the glory of the Lord, while others will be in great torment in the fires of Hell.
