Do you pray for the gospel message to flow unhindered to others?
Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have free course, and be glorified, even as it is with you: And that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men: for all men have not faith. (2 Thessalonians 3:1-2 KJV)
Paul is asking the Thessalonian Church for prayer for the ministry work set before them. He desired that the gospel message of God would be allowed to flow freely as they, Paul, and Silvanus, and Timothy, went about in their missionary work preaching and teaching God’s Word according to God’s will upon their lives.
Paul requested prayer for safety as this group traveled about the land knowing they would likely suffer the reproach of men who were sitting in the spiritual camp of the god of this world rather than busy about spreading the Truth of God. Paul knew not everyone they would encounter would have faith in God and support their ministry and possible physical and spiritual harm could come to them. Even so, Paul and his men were busy serving God on their missionary journey, making it all about His glory and honor, not about their own personal gain or loss.
