What did you do with the powerful message of the Truth of God?
Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God. (Hebrews 3:12 KJV)
There is both ignorant disbelief and willful unbelief regarding the wonderful and powerful salvation message from God. There are individuals and groups of people who have never heard the gospel message for a small handful of reasons including the individual does not have spiritual hearing empowered by God or the message has not yet been available for his ears in more remote regions of this earth.
The Bible is very clear about the avenue of arrival of God’s salvation message:
So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. (Romans 10:17 KJV)
This verse was inspired by God and penned in a time when the Bible, as we know it today, did not yet exist . For individuals to own or even possess handwritten parchments or manuscripts was highly unlikely. The early church relied upon their pastor and leaders to read and preach God’s Word inside their local tabernacle or in houses as they met together. Crowds gathered eager to hear God’s Word.
However, today all the avenues technology has made reading the entire canon God’s Word possible. There are many who have heard the message of salvation, along with many proofs, more than once. Many probably own or have access to more than one Bible. Still some have chosen to disregard or suppress God’s Word; allowing instead the entertaining voice of the god of this world to dictate his dark and pleasurable will for their life.
There is widespread sin and willful disbelief today. After hearing the true message of God and His plan for salvation whomsoever will does come according to God’s power and this salvation process has never changed. God tells us in His Word that after a time, due to rebellion and disobedience, and not according to lack of power in His message, He will shut off or impede a person’s spiritual hearing just as He was compelled to do with His own Jewish people in the Old Testament:
Behold, the LORD’S hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear: But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear. (Isaiah 59:1-2 KJV)
In the New Testament God revealed His message to those who were spiritually enlightened or empowered to understand the mystery plainly spoken; but those who are spiritually dead in their sin have no comprehension of His Truth:
Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand. And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive: For this people’s heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them. (Matthew 13:13-15 KJV)
Are you living spiritually alive unto eternal life in His power; or spiritually dead and dull to His message of unconditional love and salvation?
