Christians do you take God’s Word lightly or use it to judge yourself daily?
For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God? And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear? Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls to him in well doing, as unto a faithful Creator. (1 Peter 4:17-19 KJV)
Judgment, according to God’s Word, begins at God’s own house. It is worse for a Christian who knows God’s Word choosing to lightly dismiss it than for a man who is spiritually ignorant of what God says in His Word. God holds His own spiritual family to a higher standard than those living in the world.
If God’s people cannot escape judgment of God then consider for a moment those who are choosing to live disobedient lives rebellious to the things of God. No man will be able to offer an excuse of not knowing the importance and relevance of God’s Word or bargain with any defense for their lack of interest in following His Word.
Both the sinner and the man who placed faith in God and quickened alive in Christ must give an account of their life. Those things that are of this world: wood, hay, and straw will burn up in this world; but spiritual fruit born of an obedient relationship with God despite circumstances or persecution will last for all eternity.
Are you living according to His will in obedience to Him in this world? Or manifesting the works of the god of this world allowing sin and wickedness to reign in your life? No man will pass into the eternal realm without his works being tested and proved; or burned in flames of God’s judgment.
Righteous men should judge themselves according to His Word on a daily basis while sojourning upon this earth keeping the spiritual relationship between them and God free from spoiled fruit and shining for Him now and for all eternity.
