Take Up Your Cross January 27th 2015

Mankind can take no credit for any abilities in his spiritual life for they are of God.

Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God; (2 Corinthians 3:5 KJV)

Mankind is insufficient in his own natural darkened state having nothing in his natural self to glory about; apart from inviting the presence of God to live and dwell inside Him accepting God’s gift of great mercy through faith and viewing our own self as totally unworthy agreeing with God, as He ushers us inside our heart new spiritual life.

This new spiritual life has nothing to do with mankind.  God’s grace imputed to our own spiritual account brings about a positional standing in Christ as we sojourn upon this earth and eternity with God in the heavenly realm.  Anything we do or accomplish must be credited to the goodness and power of God.

Man left to his own self and living in his natural state, is not capable of accomplishing any good thing apart from the being quickened alive with the presence of God.

The prophet Isaiah was inspired to say this about mankind:

takeupyourcrossredocmclearBut we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away. (Isaiah 64:6 KJV)

The book if Job says:

Yet man is born unto trouble, as the sparks fly upward. (Job 5:7 KJV)

When you look in the mirror what do you see the supernatural presence of God at work in your life or the stain of sin and shame reflecting a dark shadow from the god of this world about you?
