Take Up Your Cross January 31st 2015

God has known you since the beginning

Then the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations. Then said I, Ah, Lord GOD! behold, I cannot speak: for I am a child. But the LORD said unto me, Say not, I am a child: for thou shalt go to all that I shall send thee, and whatsoever I command thee thou shalt speak. Be not afraid of their faces: for I am with thee to deliver thee, saith the LORD. Then the LORD put forth his hand, and touched my mouth. And the LORD said unto me, Behold, I have put my words in thy mouth. See, I have this day set thee over the nations and over the kingdoms, to root out, and to pull down, and to destroy, and to throw down, to build, and to plant. (Jeremiah 1:4-10 KJV)

Did you realize that God has known you and set you aside for His divine purposes since the beginning of time?  That He planned your life even before He formed you in your mother’s womb?  Yes, God had your whole life planned out; from the beginning unto the end; even before you existed in the flesh and were formed in your mother’s belly.  God clearly has a plan for your life and mine.  He did not place any man in the womb to exist upon this earth without an eternal purpose in mind.

God had a plan in mind for Jeremiah’s life too.  Jeremiah is stunned to understand that God had a divine purpose for his life and he was especially blown away by the fact that God had formed His blueprint before Jeremiah was ever conceived.  God supernaturally called Jeremiah to minister God’s Word even before he was physically born.  Jeremiah came up with excuses like Moses when coming face to face with God’s plan for him to speak and minster to others the truths of God.  Jeremiah felt inadequate and weak; not up to standards to undertake such a high profile task; but God insisted that Jeremiah should not be afraid of being obedient to His calling upon his life.

Jeremiah would be spiritually successful in this endeavor at the hands of God according to His will.  His calling rested upon God’s power; not in anything to do with the unpreparedness or spiritual weakness existing within Jeremiah.

God has  a particular calling upon your life as well.  Have you followed through in submission to God or ignored His calling making excuses against incorporating His divine plan into your life?

takeupyourcrossredocmclearSet your gaze firmly upon the things of God not upon your circumstances; allowing Him to lead your every footstep as you submit unto His plan for your life.  God calls us to be obedient; “yes” men and women to His calling upon our lives leaving all the details and directions up to Him.
