Do you have faith in God and His supernatural power?
By faith the walls of Jericho fell down, after they were compassed about seven days. By faith the harlot Rahab perished not with them that believed not, when she had received the spies with peace. (Hebrews 11:30-31 KJV)
Faith is supernaturally powerful, persuasive and potent. Accomplishing that which is not possible in any human capacity or strength. It can defy human reasoning and expectations. Rahab was trusting in God rather than in the stone walls which surrounded the city of Jericho. She knew that God was powerful and she and her family would be saved from harm as promised through faith in God.
The Israelite soldiers marched around the walls. The longer they marched the more the walls were beginning to shake. The walls began to quake and tumble on the seventh trip symbolizing perfection. God knew just how many trips around it would take to topple the wall.
Rahab was safe from the commotion and blood shed as she had been given God’s promise for her faith and favorable response to the calling of God on her life. Through faith she had hidden the spies who were sent by God to spy on the city of Jericho. Their task would not have been accomplished without the spiritual intervention of God working through Rahab who made herself available to be used of God.
Rahab received life for her and her family for her willingness to bring glory and honor to God rather than herself. She affected many; including her and her family, the spies, the Israelite Army, and most importantly was available for God’s will to be fulfilled in her life.
