Are you following religious gurus or living in obedience to God?

For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do. And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition. (Mark 7:8-9 KJV)

Are you dabbling in church today majoring in religion; fulfilling the law by attending church, doing good things, following a creed, being a good person; essentially setting aside the very Word of God and His commandments following man’s idea of a relationship with God.  This is all of man having nothing to do with God.

Being religious and following a set of rules does not spiritually quicken alive anyone; or does keeping traditions or laws alive founded in man having nothing to do with God or His Word.  Many place worldly traditions and conduct above or superior to the Word of God but this is not a biblical approach.  Religious rules and traditions stacked upon a foundation of man are not stable and set to collapse at any contrary wind or spiritual storm looming on the horizon.  Religion does not make a spiritually alive man but leaves men dead in their sin and trespasses now and for all eternity.  Obedience in faith to God makes a man spiritually quickened alive now and for all eternity.

Beliefs and conduct based upon the Word of God fulfills God’s will in your life.  It is living in obedience and reverence to God not mankind or the ways of the world.  It is placing His will, His way, and His commandment and precepts first in our life and setting aside the ways and will of mankind and living for the things of God.  It is being spiritually alive now and for all eternity.
