Do you glory in the supernatural strength and power of God working in your life or revel in your own accomplishments?
But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption: That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord. (1 Corinthians 1:30-31 KJV)
Man cannot take pride in anything of himself; especially in his own works. Man can glory only in the finished work of Christ. Mankind has nothing in or of himself to glory about as he is born innately sinful and desperately wicked. There is nothing good in man save the goodness of God working in him and through him to accomplish according to His will.
The Bible says:
And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. (Genesis 6:5 KJV)
Many today are aligned with the god of this world who operates boldly and filled with pride reveling in darkness and evil continually. God is keenly aware of the evil which resides inside a spiritually dead and desperate man’s heart.
Through faith and repentance mankind can stand in a right relationship enjoying spiritual fellowship with God upheld by the finished work of His Son Jesus Christ. Man who is spiritually illuminated is enveloped in God’s brilliant light, filled to overflowing with His perfection and righteousness, and standing tall; this is certainly in stark contrast to mankind’s natural or innate darkness which casts shadows and propagates evil in this world.
