Are you resting upon your own works or Christ’s finished work on the cross to spend eternity with God?
That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. (John 3:15 KJV)
The crux of eternal life for mankind is in the believing not the doing. There is no power in man’s doing because eternal life rests in the finished work of Jesus Christ upon the cross. Mankind can do nothing to save himself. Eternal life lies in believing, or placing faith in the finished work of the shed blood of Jesus Christ, not in any work of man.
The Bible gives us a clear message throughout the entire cannon of scripture that eternal life comes only through God. Many people try to come into God’s saving grace through other doorways including works, baptism, false religion, profession and prayer, cleaning up their life, being good and doing good things, or placing hope in anything that relies upon self rather than upon the work of His Son Jesus Christ.
The Bible tells us over and over again that there is only one way, one pathway to eternity with Him:
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. (John 14:6 KJV)
