Do you have knowledge of an eternal nature or faulty intellect from the god of this world?

And if any man think that he knoweth any thing, he knoweth nothing yet as he ought to know. (1 Corinthians 8:2 KJV)

There are many who revel in knowledge gathered in this world.  Human strength, power, and knowledge have been proven time and time again to be an unreliable and precarious foundation.  In ancient biblical times Greece is often looked upon as being a knowledge powerhouse of historical record.  There were many strides made in Scientific, technical and industrial areas but nothing man has a hand in correlates or connects together greater than the supernatural strength and power of God.  Progress ultimately came about because God allowed it to happen; not because man was superior in their thinking and development in any time of history and in fact the Bible tells us this earth and everything, including knowledge, is decaying rather than advancing forward in light of eternity.

Only knowledge gathered that is of a spiritual nature is helpful in light of eternity. In this verse Paul is speaking to members of the Corinthian Church, many of whom became pretentious or haughty, in the perceived depth of their mental assent or knowledge. Often when mankind thinks he knows everything, especially regarding anything of a spiritual nature, he is destined for a spiritual downfall because any information gathered is not comparable to God’s vast and immeasurable knowledge base of things of an eternal nature; especially from His perfect vantage point from the heavenly realm.

Knowledge itself is neutral; it can be used to bring about good or evil.  It can be used to build up or tear down a person or thing.  Only spiritual awareness is powerful and useful now and for all eternity and originates from God rather than stemming from the dark and wicked data base compiled by the of the god of this world.
