Take Up Your Cross May 2nd 2015

God promises to bless your godly obedience.

Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand. (Revelation 1:3 KJV)

This blessing is a promise from God.  All scripture is inspired by God and that includes this promise contained in Revelation.  God so desires mankind to this last book of the Bible that He promises to bless those who follow through in reading it obediently.

Reading this book is not the end of the story.  God also says “and they that hear the words of this prophecy…” It is God’s desire that man would hear the prophecy contained in this book of Revelation.  This book is the most vivid or poignant illustration of what is to come for mankind in God’s timing as time winds down on earth.

Lastly, God’s desire is that mankind would keep or highly esteem the prophecy and truths contained in this book of Revelation saying “and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand…” God is warning mankind that life upon this earth does have a certain end.  It is not guess work God already knows what is going to take place an inspired John to write it down in these words of the book of Revelation so that man could highly value what was written in His Word and apply them to their heart and mind.

Mankind does not know the timing of these end-time prophecies but God said “for the time is at hand…” which means He desires we be aware and vigilant; not caught oblivious when the prophecies of His Word suddenly come into being as time heads towards the end and the earth and all the elements within it burn and melt away.
