God gives unmerited favor and truth.
And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace. For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ. No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him. (John 1:16-18 KJV)
Truth and grace came from God through His Son in the New Testament. The law came in the Old Testament from God through His servant Moses. The fullness of God, available in a personal relationship with Him is multifaceted; much more than mankind will ever begin to understand.
The law looks at one facet of God and the Truth looks at God from another aspect or spiritual dimension. Jesus never separated His Truth from Grace in either the Old or New Testament. Truth and grace have always been intertwined and cannot be alienated or separated one from the other.
The Truth of God’s Word has two faces: a pointed side which pokes and prods at the conscious and an opposite aspect which acts as rubbing compound or “spiritual polish” working through God’s supernatural power to remove scratches, mars, and dents bringing out His holy sparkle.
