Take Up Your Cross November 18th 2014

Jesus was born of a virgin in the flesh and physically died upon the cross for all sin.

And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; (Philippians 2:8-10 KJV)

Jesus Christ came to this earth fashioned as a man; born physically in the flesh just like you and I. He came down from Heaven born in the physical flesh of Mary a virgin; but not of an earthly father as mankind is created.  Jesus was divinely fashioned by God and sent to this earth to bring about the will of God.  All mankind is created innately live according to the will of God for their life upon this earth.

The will of God concerning Jesus Christ was to live in the flesh upon this earth, yet without sin, to die upon the cross at Calvary for the sin nature of all mankind.  Jesus Christ had opportunity, through free will; to elect not to fulfill God’s calling for His life.  He could have refused to drink of the cup or sentence to die upon the cross; summoning legions of angels to save Him from this agonizing death.  He obediently hung upon the cross, alongside common criminals, spiritually separated from God upon the moment of His death.  It was at this agonizing point He took on the weight of the sin debt of all mankind.  Jesus chose to drink the cup of His Father’s will for His life; being obedient unto death.

Because Jesus was obedient unto death God the Father lifted Jesus up, or exalted Him; and after the third day He arose again to live forever.  Today Jesus is setting at the right hand of His Father God in heaven.  This is the reason mankind can come to God, without separation, through the work of Jesus Christ upon the cross at Calvary which closed the spiritual ravine or partition; having nothing to do with any works of our own.  His work, which paid the sin debt in full, paved the pathway to spiritual reconciliation with God.

The Old Testament animal sacrifice and shedding of blood was not sufficient to remove sin; but the life-giving blood of Jesus Christ poured out upon the cross of Calvary made an atonement removing all sin; opening Faith Avenue for mankind to travel, propelled by placing faith in Jesus Christ in a spiritual relationship with God.

A spiritual relationship is open for whomsoever will call upon Him in faith now and for all eternity.

takeupyourcrossredocmclearAll mankind will bow on bended knee unto Him in eternity.  The unregenerate in heart will face Him in utter desperation along with agonizing fear as the fire in His eyes sets to flame any conjured up excuse for their deadened heart and self-imposed spiritual death for all eternity in the fires of Hell.
