Take Up Your Cross November 1st 2014

Supernatural strength from God brings victory.

I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. (Philippians 4:13 KJV)

This verse does not say I can do many things, or some things.  It says ALL things can be accomplished operating under the influence of God’s supernatural power.  We can accomplish anything according to His will for our life.  God’s will never operate against His commandments and precepts contained in His Word.

I quit smoking after many years of this unattractive habit.  I could not accomplish quitting in my own strength but was successful in Christ’s strength.  I often recited this verse “I can do all things through Christ…” at any time I desired a cigarette.  And YES God did bring me through the process of quitting cold turkey; taking my desire, my habit, and my choice for smoking and chucking it away.  God convicted me that smoking was in contrast to or against His will for my life.  Smoking, one of my sinful desires, inhibited my spiritual growth and I chose to lay it aside; placing God first and above this habit so that I could continue onward in this earthly race towards an eternal prize waiting for me in glory.

Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. (Hebrews 12:1-2 KJV)

What sin(s) may He be calling for YOU to lie aside; picking up the baton of faith centered squarely upon the things of God through His Son Jesus Christ as you progress on your earthly journey along the narrow path towards eternity?

takeupyourcrossredocmclearYou CAN do ALL things calling unto Him for supernatural strength; not from imitating the world’s superheroes such as Superman, or Batman, or Spider man; as others witness your testimony both upon this earth and in the heavenly realm.
