Have you made a spiritual U-turn towards the things of God?
Paul, an apostle, (not of men, neither by man, but by Jesus Christ, and God the Father, who raised him from the dead;) (Galatians 1:1 KJV)
Paul was straightway settling any confusion or misinformation that may have reared its ugly head concerning the authority of his apostleship. Likely this was important because of many who sorely remembered Paul’s many past escapades centered in in enmity and rebellion against the things of God; mistreating, persecuting, and killing those who were making a stand for God.
Paul had not made himself an apostle, nor had another man placed Him in that position; rather God hand-picked Paul to be an apostle, giving him supernatural authority, through the Holy Spirit coming to reside within him, representing the things of Christ via his own death, burial, and resurrection unto God through His Son Jesus Christ, bringing honor and glory to God.
Paul had been spiritually re-born on the Damascus Road and resurrected unto new life in Christ; making a spiritual U-turn: living, teaching, preaching Jesus Christ’s gospel message of the death, burial, and resurrection unto eternal life to whosoever shall hear. His life still speaks volumes to us today concerning the rich grace and mercy of God who sent His Son as a sacrifice for all. Your life should point to God and His Son Jesus Christ as you sojourn upon this earth too.
Paul was an apostle among other apostles, not the apostle of Christ. Paul did not stand on holy ground above or more prominent than any past or present saints. Neither was he placed in a position of authority over any other Apostle; but served alongside other apostles each in a particular area of which they had been called to serve, just as God calls us today to serve God spiritually as one body working together in Christ according to His individual will for our life and collectively together in His spiritual family.
The apostles in the Bible were so named because they had witnessed first-hand the death, burial, and resurrection of God’s own Son, the heavenly sent servant, Jesus who was born in the flesh, taught and preached upon this earth, and was sacrificed and died upon the cross; shedding His precious blood so that mankind could live for eternity in fellowship with God.
Even though we did not witness first hand Christ’s sacrifice upon the cross, God has called you and I just the same, and all other people who profess to be Christians; to serve Him; bringing the good news of the gospel message; the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ and allowing our life upon this earth to “speak” of His great mercy and unconditional love as we serve Him by our own personal death, burial, and resurrection unto the things of God through the finished work of His Son upon the cross.
Do you personally serve God; bringing forth the message of the gospel of salvation through Christ’s finished work upon the cross working in your life as a testimony honoring God as you sojourn towards your eternal home in the heavens?
