God richly blesses those who honor Him.
And Solomon the son of David was strengthened in his kingdom, and the LORD his God was with him, and magnified him exceedingly. (2 Chronicles 1:1 KJV)
The author of the book of Second Chronicles is most often credited to Ezra and this authorship is supported by Jewish tradition. This scripture verse above was set in the beginning times of Solomon’s reign as King. His father, David, brought Solomon up in his childhood in the ways of God. Like his father David, Solomon chose to honor God while reigning over his earthy kingdom. God blessed Solomon and his kingdom abundantly.
Just as God promised:
And king Solomon shall be blessed, and the throne of David shall be established before the LORD for ever. (1 Kings 2:45 KJV)
Solomon included God in all his plans and God rewarded his stalwart faithfulness. Solomon amassed great wealth and substance as he reigned as king of the land God had entrusted unto Him. His kingdom was strengthened as he accumulated many horses, chariots, weapons, armor and other items useful in protection and fortified to move forward in military endeavors as changing circumstances warranted. His kingdom was richly blessed and accrued far beyond basic necessities and blessed to overflowing because of God’s rich and gracious mercy and love.
God promises to remember and bless those who honor and glorify Him. His rich blessings can be, but are not promised, to be received while living on this side of heaven. Solomon experienced His blessing while living upon this earth; but without a doubt for believers His shower of blessings will be experienced in the eternal realm to come. Often God chooses to provide heavenly blessings to man in both realms.
