Take Up Your Cross October 18th 2014

Are you tasting and trusting in the Lord?

O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him. (Psalms 34:8 KJV)

This scripture verse links two truths of scripture together; taste and trust.  Taste the goodness of the Lord and after partaking of a “little spiritual bite” you will know first-hand His worthiness and wholeheartedly desire to come back for second and third helpings.

“O taste and see that the Lord is good…” God has many holy characteristics and the natural inner craving and spiritual thirst of man for the holiness of God cannot not be sufficed after just one bite as God further draws or beckons men through the goading their conscious unto Him.  Man does have the choice of free will and can choose to ignore or decline knowing more about His good and holy nature by repressing natural instincts that desire to know more of God through a personal relationship with Him.  Those who choose to repress the Truth of God will find themselves miserable and crawling through life without a sense of direction or meaning to life.

The second part of this verse links blessings together with trusting in Him.  For those who do respond favorably to the pricking of their conscious by God fulfilling their inner desire to overflowing capacity by continuing to taste feeding more and more upon God through an intimate personal relationship with Him will receive many spiritual, not necessarily earthly blessings, from God; now and for eternity.

takeupyourcrossredocmclearTrusting in God’s finished work on the cross brings you into a personal relationship with Him that delivers upon all of His promises to overflowing proportions.  Do you have blessings flowing in your life as you sojourn on this earth?  If not, do take a taste and see for He is good.
