Take Up Your Cross September 14th 2015

Taking our focus off God causes man to desire something other than what God has perfectly provided.

And having food and raiment let us be therewith content. (1 Timothy 6:8 KJV)

Mankind is repeatedly the recipient of basic or essential necessities in life.  Some people have been given more than just the necessary basics, and some even find themselves well off, having been provided for, or covered in, the lap of luxury.  Others find that they are often struggling for just essential items and are always looking ahead into the future for confirmation of necessary provision.

God often chooses to give man just what he needs and just when he needs it.  God’s Word clearly says not to worry about tomorrow because God already has already met the needs for tomorrow and often even surpassed what is necessary.

How can you do the spiritual work of sowing seeds to others living in desperation today if you are worrying and focusing energy upon needs for tomorrow?  Relax and let God work in your tomorrows providently supplying your every need as you tell others about Him today.

Keeping our focus solely upon God keeps mankind from becoming self- sufficient bringing about provision in his own way and willpower, or desiring to have more than what God has already deemed sufficient for today.
