Who shall also confirm you unto the end, that ye may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord. (1 Corinthians 1:8-9 KJV)
God promises in His Word that He will both establish and preserve His own spiritual family. God promises He will keep us in His hand, even amid fierce contrary winds and storms we may encounter as we sojourn and live upon this earth. He promises to preserve us unto the end.
And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. (John 10:28 KJV)
“Unto the end…” in the scripture verse above from 1st Corinthians 1:8 signifies the great spiritual event we are awaiting to take place in the clouds when Jesus Christ comes to earth to to bring all of His children into eternity with Him forever. He will call us by name, just as he called Lazarus from the grave by name personally to join Him in eternity forever more.
There are times as we are living the “sold-out life” for God upon this earth we begin to rely upon our own strength quickly we become weary and faint. Sometimes we even begin to doubt His power will sustain us and keep us on the narrow way. It seems, through our finite vision, evil and wickedness surround us from all sides hindering safe passage while upon this earth but God always sees the big picture through His holy lens and has already secured the final victory in hand through His shed blood upon the cross. We are kept through His work upon the cross and not having anything to do with our own work or strength. We are eternally dependent upon His goodness, mercy and grace; having nothing to do with mankind’s own ability to run the race that is before him.
The Bible tells us that God is the Author and Finisher of our faith:
Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds. (Hebrews 12:1-3 KJV)
Are you allowing God to steer all aspects of your life; keeping your feet planted upon the narrow pathway towards eternity? Or are you trying to maneuver yourself among the many twists and turns of life, amid wavering strength, failing miserably to move forward along the narrow pathway?
