Do you heed godly wisdom?
I have taught thee in the way of wisdom; I have led thee in right paths. When thou goest, thy steps shall not be straitened; and when thou runnest, thou shalt not stumble. (Proverbs 4:11-12 KJV)
We often like to use excuses such as “I didn’t know…. Or I do not know how…” but God clearly emphasizes in this scripture verse that he has taught us in the way of wisdom. He freely gives mankind a choice of obtaining a clear and disciplined mindset instead of wallowing in satan’s dark mentality of despair and defeat.
For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. (2 Timothy 1:7 KJV)
Often the problem is that we have failed to listen to His wisdom, or have heard Him but failed to apply His teaching to our lives. Time and again many choose to suppress godly knowledge or meaning in life. The opposite of applying godly wisdom to our lives is to allow ourselves to think upon foolish things of the god of this world. God’s wisdom working in our life always propels us along the narrow pathway; worldly knowledge leads us astray along the wider corridor in this world.
The Bible further elaborates on heavenly wisdom (with the bold emphasis added mine):
But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy. (James 3:17 KJV)
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family. May you know the joy of the Lord all year long.
