The Abundance of Fruit of The Flesh
Galatians 5:22-23 (KJV) But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
These verses from the book of Galatians give us the entire biblical low-down on the fruit of His Spirit. It might seem simple at first impression, but each of these words, the characteristics of God are quite involved and cannot be absorbed in one quick read over but must be studied in-depth and personally applied.
What do I mean by that statement? These seven words speak a spiritual mouthful concerning the very nature or essence of God. His fruit abundantly rounds a humbled soul with the magnitude of His holy character and taking it a step further, understanding the scope of God’s nature allows us to compare the fruit or crop of our natural flesh to His perfect nature.
Indeed, if you are like me, you are overwhelmed with the abundant nature of God’s Spirit. There is no way any human can compare with or meet the perfect character of God, especially on his or her own merit. While it is true that each of us does continually emit fruit in our life, none of it comes close to comparing with the perfect and holy essence of fruit of His Spirit.
In fact, you must know that our natural fruit, in comparison to His fruit, is a continual harvest of rotting crops that cannot compare in any way with God’s holy harvest.
I hope that you know God and allow Him to fertilize and prosper you with eternal salvation and constant fruit production according to His power and will. Having His out of this world nature at work in the soul allows a person to reach his most significant spiritual capacity all for honoring God. Without the inner working of God’s Spirit, a person can only produce a stinking yield of putrid fruit that quickly decays.
