The Best We Have To Offer
Isaiah 64:6-7 (KJV) But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away. And there is none that calleth upon thy name, that stirreth up himself to take hold of thee: for thou hast hid thy face from us, and hast consumed us, because of our iniquities.
These verses recorded by the Prophet Isaiah under God’s inspiration give us a grim look at our natural heart condition and that we have nothing valuable or good to offer God. Why, because we are all naturally filled with a natural state of sin at work in our heart. The Bible tells us that we are born a sinner outside of spiritual fellowship with God.
The best we have to offer God is nothing. However, this state of spiritual desperation did not stop God from loving all humans without merit. In fact, God loved humanity so much that He gave His Only Begotten Son, Jesus Christ, as is recorded in John 3:16 so that every soul can choose to agree with God about the nature of sin and death and to reciprocate His love.
Even though humankind does not have anything to offer God, God does not stop loving them without them meeting conditions. In other words, God loves humanity without merit and desires every individual to choose to serve and savor Him, but God will not force Himself on any unwilling person and leaves humankind to choose to serve sin or to serve God.
