The Common Salvation
Jude 3 (KJV) Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.
The writer of Jude was conscientious to write as God stirred his heart about the common salvation. The word common in this verse indicates, as God teaches, His salvation is for every soul, whether they be Jew or Gentile. Though it is familiar with those who know and love God, it is often not common among humanity in this corrupt world.
Because many souls do not understand this vital salvation message, this scripture, along with many others, should stir every child of God to witness to lost and wayward souls. The author implores us to contend for the faith. We should love people enough to tell them the truth about God rather than let any lost soul die in sin. The devil is always willing to talk trash and to convince lost souls to follow him; we should always be both ready and willing with enthusiasm to reach souls.
God continues to place needy souls along our path in this world so that we can sow seeds of His gospel message, placing them on the bottom shelf for their potential comprehension and leading to a spiritually regenerated heart condition with the work of God. The opportunity to reach lost hearts is worth every amount of propagating necessary in introducing lost souls to Christ’s eternal nature and love.
Contending for the faith is a crucial part of God’s plan for the common salvation or that available for every soul. Though alone He can reach souls with the gospel message, He is waiting for you and me to serve Him by sowing His seeds among wickedness at work in this world. You may be the link between a lost soul and them knowing Christ.
