The Cry Of An Abandoned Soul
Matthew 27:46 (KJV) And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?
This is a heart-touching accounting of the desperate cry of Jesus in His flesh the moment He was separated by physical death from his father, God. The natural division of flesh and spirit is an event that each soul must face. The imminence of death, whether it be over two thousand years ago, today, or yet to come on the horizon, no person will escape physical death.
However, keep in mind, for the child of God since Calvary, he or she will remain in perfect union with God because of the finished work by Jesus Christ that day. Yes, the sting of death has been removed for every spiritually regenerated soul and shouldered by Jesus Christ.
A cry and the desperation of an abandoned soul does not have to happen to any person ever again. Why? Because Jesus Christ made it possible for each individual to accept the gift of God, given through His Son, taking the bite out of death forever. Instead, each regenerated soul can face eternal joy and perfection freely given by God through His Son Jesus Christ.
