The Gift of Grace

The Gift of Grace

Ephesians 3:8 (KJV) Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ.

The Apostle Paul was humble and honored to be the recipient of God’s abundant grace.  Not only was he the recipient of this gift of grace, but he pointed out that it came with certain expectations from God.  Yes, God anticipates that each sincere child of God will desire to serve and savor Him through the gift(s) so graciously given them without merit for with His gift comes a lofty goal.

You see, God did not lightly choose to send His Only Son to this earth.  Jesus Christ did not easily decide to follow the will of God for His life; instead, He sweat drops of blood while in prayer in the garden concerning this prospect of His shed-blood sacrifice for sin at the request of His Father God.  Knowing this, each of us should keep the grace of God and the obedience of Jesus Christ in high regard, for, without either, each of us would naturally have a sentence of death wrapped about our neck without remedy.

It is crucial to comprehend the sacrifice God made in sending His Only Son to this earth, and the physical sacrifice Jesus Christ endured on Calvary without complaint.  We can learn and apply valuable lessons as we strive to bring honor and glory to God by savoring and serving Him as did Jesus Christ and the Apostle Paul along with other great saints as recorded in biblical times.

Let’s carry the gift of God’s grace into the new year with both humbleness and with a sincere desire to serve God according to the will He placed for our life.  If we each did as God desires, imagine how different this world could be in short order.
