The Millennial Gate
Ezekiel 44:1-3 (KJB) Then he brought me back the way of the gate of the outward sanctuary which looketh toward the east; and it was shut. 2 Then said the LORD unto me; This gate shall be shut, it shall not be opened, and no man shall enter in by it; because the LORD, the God of Israel, hath entered in by it, therefore it shall be shut. 3 It is for the prince; the prince, he shall sit in it to eat bread before the LORD; he shall enter by the way of the porch of that gate, and shall go out by the way of the same.
Ezekiel’s time in the eternal realm was drawing to a close. He was escorted from the altar to the outer gate by his heavenly guide. The gate before him at the outward sanctuary was shuttered and out of service because it was where the glory of the Lord had entered into the temple. The other reason this gate is not used since ancient times was that the Lord was to be the last to enter into the temple this way. No mortal man can now enter into the temple through this gate because of the holiness of God.
Upon the return of Jesus Christ to reign in His millennial kingdom, He will enter into the temple through the gate situated along the Eastern wall. To this day this gate has remained shut and awaiting the Messiah’s return to the temple coming before the Lord.
The Millennial gate was seen in eternity by Ezekiel. This gate remains shut, it has even bricked up by non-believers, waiting the imminent return of the reign and rule of Jesus Christ and will be opened and entered by Him in the Millennium.
