The Miracle Enveloped in Seven Sneezes
2 Kings 4:32-35 (KJB) And when Elisha was come into the house, behold, the child was dead, and laid upon his bed. 33 He went in therefore, and shut the door upon them twain, and prayed unto the LORD. 34 And he went up, and lay upon the child, and put his mouth upon his mouth, and his eyes upon his eyes, and his hands upon his hands: and he stretched himself upon the child; and the flesh of the child waxed warm. 35 Then he returned, and walked in the house to and fro; and went up, and stretched himself upon him: and the child sneezed seven times, and the child opened his eyes.
If you are an avid Bible reader you understand that God often works in mysterious ways to bring about His will in this world. Certainly, you will agree that God’s way of ushering in miracles and healing as divinely recorded in His Word are simply out of this world!
Isn’t it wonderful that there is no limit to the magnitude or reach of His supernatural power? In these verses from the book of 2nd Kings, we read about a moment in ancient time where Elisha was used in a surprising way to heal a young child.
Elisha was divinely chosen to heal this ill child through prayer to God and sneezes. It took seven sneezes to be exact. The number seven is always used in God’s Word to paint a picture of completeness and perfection. Certainly, seven sneezes accomplished that which God had willed for this child through His servant Elisha.
God always works in supernatural ways that stand above anything common works found in this world. Perhaps you will remember this ancient divine healing which opened the eyes of a young and gravely ill child each and every time you hear a person sneezing multiple times in this world.
