The Natural Man Will Always Jump the Fence

But we know that the law is good, if a man use it lawfully; Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers, For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine; (1 Timothy 1:8-10 KJV)

34554Mankind’s natural bent falls towards individuality and abiding in free-spiritedness rather than turning towards conformity and obeying commands of a ruling authority.  Mankind likes to ignore laws; both of man and God.  He often chooses to turn a deaf ear to demonstrate his opposition, choosing not to fulfill even reasonable expectations socially, civilly, and spiritually.

Our world is rapidly decaying and falling apart all about us.  My heart is heavy laden as needless deaths abound due to abortion, brash criminal acts, frequent incidences of drug abuse and overdoses, and other unnecessary reasons as deaths continue to skyrocket.  We have a proud and puffed up generation who desire to buck the status quo, devoid of hope for the future and have no conscious or personal accountability prodding at them in the heart.

Since birth, the natural man is not willing or able to control himself.  He does not willingly desire or consent to laws of this world.  He cannot contain or manage his passion for things which are pleasurable and palatable.  He often chooses to reside among that which is both comfortable and pleasurable to his weak flesh and heightened emotional state.  He opts to surround himself with things which are desperately dark and evil.  Man’s incessant appetite for gratifying himself overrules his seared and silenced conscious towards the righteousness things of God

Creating, changing, revamping, or expanding the law in our society has done nothing to curb or compel man’s appetite or restrict his natural bent towards societies widened and worn pathway of least resistance found bustling with traffic in this world.  This socially popular pathway leads in a direction that appears palatable and pleasing, but in the end always, brings great misery and death spiritually and physically.

Rules, laws, and ever increasing regulations are constantly being applied to compel unruly mankind to behave.  The purpose is to constrain, change, and contain him into a socially managed conformity, bringing about a social standardization complete with accepted consequences for what is considered wildly errant behavior.  The ever increasing and tightening of the law at work in this world can work to modify the direction of many “minor criminals.” Many can be temporarily sidetracked with an engagement of social engineering and worldly counseling laced together with a pharmaceutical agenda to help in altering and modifying future choices.  Greater statutory laws and health concoctions are purposely created and dealt to keep “social ills,” attitudes, and works of darkness and rebellion against authority minimalized or at bay.  These contemporary diversions are at best a “socially enacted fence” raised up against those who are ruled by their natural bent or predisposition to act out or rebel against authority rather than living in control with the Spirit of God on board their quickened alive and softened heart.

Countless people choose to “jump” their initial boundary or fence going on to jump higher and higher to commit crimes of a grander nature which require more and more severe penalties and application of additional laws to be imposed for more effective control as actions warrant greater modification of evil intent and behavior.  Therefore, many young people reside within the confines of a “socially controlled camp” for a time until once again they launch themselves over this newest wider and higher hurdle into an ever increasing gateway of evil.  These worldly forms of socially acceptable interventions fail to reform actions and evil dispositions in the long term.

The development of more stringent laws, consequences, and programs are always necessary for any person who chooses to commit crimes persistently and conduct not containable in standards at work in this world.  A more stringent “corporal fence” is continually being constructed to contain those deemed or graded (by the world’s curve) to have a dangerous bent towards committing greater and more horrendous crimes.  Laws in this world are made to enforce a societal conformity to a set and expected standard.  Laws are broken by the natural bent of mankind to gravitate towards evil and the breaking of the law according to the working of his natural, unregenerate dark nature.

Laws of man exist at one end of the spectrum while the freedom of God has always existed at the opposing end of the same equation.  God gave the law in the Old TestamentHeartofTenCommandments to show mankind his need for His holiness and righteousness.  A personal relationship with God releases man from the need to put into practice being “good” and adhering to the law and obedience through his strength and action.  A relationship with God spiritually aligns man to see his need for reliance upon the supernatural power of God ushering in His presence, goodness, and righteousness, through the indwelling of the fruit of His Spirit in the heart of regenerated man, bringing man’s nature into compliance with the peace and perfection of God.

Mankind naturally exists in his human weakness living like a wild animal outside the fence.  He is naturally uncontrollable and wild as he exists in this world.  All one needs to do is reflect upon the unruliness and evil in the heart of the man of Gadara (Mark 5:1-20) to understand how men without God exists in this world.  The man from Gadara’s propensity for evil worked its way out from his darkened heart through the stronghold of the power of demonic spiritual forces outwardly working in his life.

Man can only find authentic spiritual success by meeting the law of God through the work of the supernatural power of God present in his quickened alive heart.  Only a personal relationship with God can meet and exceed the law.  Only God can bring about a supernatural and perpetual conformity to the law through entrance of His will and way at work through faith in the softened heart of mankind.  Unlike stringent laws and methods of enacting socially engineered behavior changes which are temporary at best.  A genuine change of nature in the heart of man, engineered by God, is always successful in bringing about change both this world and for all eternity.

The Bible tells us Jesus Christ came to this earth as a man (and God) fulfill the law perfectly (Matthew 5:17-20).  God fulfilled the law through the shed blood on the cross at Calvary.  It is this blood that successfully compels man to change from his evil nature from birth to the blessings and fruitful nature of God (Galatians 5:22-23).

It is only by the power of God that man can rise above great evils which seem to have a stronghold or control over society in this world.  This includes hopelessness, drug abuse, propensity for criminal acts both great and small, murder, abortion, sexual perversions, men with evil tongues, and other great abominations mentioned and abhorred by God in His Word.

It is only when man chooses to view the nature of sin as God sees it and detesting evil and wickedness of the god of this world, which he will choose to place faith in the finished work at Calvary inviting the presence of God to live inside his heart.  It is only this new spiritual nature of God than can successfully exist among the great evil of this world full of hope and peace now and for all eternity.

The Old Testament law was created with the spiritual purpose of showing mankind his personal need for the holiness of God.  The law of God was not for ushering in perfect obedience but for a spiritual change in nature which begins in the heart of each spiritually changed man.  This change of nature is necessary in successfully combating the great evil at work in this world.

Social and criminal parameters engineered in this world will never be satisfied through obedience to its laws because the nature of unregenerate man will always rise against any law set in place.  Unregenerate man will always gravitate towards a natural bent for aligning with evil and wickedness cleverly manufactured by the god of this world.
