The New Man
Colossians 3:10-11 (KJB) And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him: 11 Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all.
The new man is a spiritual state of heart and only comes from personally knowing God. A new state of heart is not something that a person can just put on like a new shirt or a pair of socks. In short, a new spiritual heart stands in spiritual agreement with God and identifies with Him concerning the nature of sin and death.
A person cannot become a new man in his spiritual center from being moral and doing good things. Or by following laws and submitting to authority figures in this world. A new spiritual nature does not come about by anything that any man can do for himself or for others; this new spiritual nature rests solely upon the finished spiritual work of Jesus Christ on Calvary.
Any person can choose to become a new man in Christ made possible through the inward heart work of God.
Putting on the new spirit is available for any person who agrees with God. This new spiritual heart alignment renews his or her heart through the finished work of His Son Jesus Christ. The knowledge of God regenerates softened hearts to identify with God becoming a new man in Christ.
