The Old Nature is Crucified
Galatians 5:24 (KJB) And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.
Here is a key verse in living the Christian life. Those who genuinely belong to Christ have died to self and the calling of the flesh. Anotherwards what they want and desire in their life is set aside to serve and savor God and to follow His will for their life.
Life becomes all about Him rather than us (John 3:30)!
Before any person knew God, every heart was spiritually lost and desired to serve sin and to lust after things with the pull of their flesh. However, when a regenerated heart recognizes God and chooses to identify with Him, their desires and yearnings have been altered to agree with the direction and desires of God.
Simply put, a regenerated heart no longer desires to live for self but for bringing honor and glory to God. A regenerated heart moves from self-interest to serving God. The sin nature was put to death by the finished work of Jesus Christ upon Calvary and the new nature of God is available for whosoever chooses to identify with God and live for Him.
There is the old nature ruled by sin, and a new quickened alive spiritual nature governed and directed by God. Each distinct spiritual spectrum lies opposite each other and a sincere child of God desires to claim and follow the nature and nurture of God rather than remain spiritually lost inside the darkness of the god of this world.
