The Price of Redemption
Ephesians 2:8-9 (KJB) For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
What portion of redemption can a man pay for himself? Now, that’s a great question which has an absolute and spiritually awesome answer! A man cannot purchase any portion of his salvation. The cost has already been paid in full by the willing spirit of His Son Jesus Christ.
This spiritual cost or wage paid, for sin was an enormous spiritual undertaking, but Jesus Christ was willing to pay this huge price for making restitution for the wages of sin for every person. He paid the entire cost for you and me. He divinely took care of all sin: past, present, and future tense. His generosity was not because you or I deserved His grace and mercy, but simply because His unmerited favor is due to the great and undying love He has for every person.
A man cannot ever boast of having obtained salvation for it had nothing to do with him and was all about the supernatural power and presence of God and His Son Jesus Christ.
The grace of God was the flowing fuel of redemption. Through the shed blood of His Only Son Jesus Christ was shed for the sin debt of all mankind. A man cannot claim he has done anything to receive the redemption of his sin for it solely was a work of God and a gift of grace given through His Only Son.
