The Prophecy Promptly Came to Pass

Daniel 4:33 (KJB) The same hour was the thing fulfilled upon Nebuchadnezzar: and he was driven from men, and did eat grass as oxen, and his body was wet with the dew of heaven, till his hairs were grown like eagles’ feathers, and his nails like birds’ claws.

King Nebuchadnezzar was an evil ruler.  His heart was naturally dark, being filled with the presence of evil and sin.  Through his uncouth experiences, we can learn a lot about wickedness and the nature of God’s wrath towards evil.

God predicted exactly what would take place.  Evidently, Nebuchadnezzar was so caught up in his dark deeds and evil rule that he gave no thought to the truth or the supernatural power and purposes of God.  He did not give God’s divine prediction any credence.

However, the Bible tells us “The same hour was the thing fulfilled upon Nebuchadnezzar…” God’s prophecy was found to be both true and to happen immediately in his life.

Because of his choice to linger in his evil ways, Nebuchadnezzar faced a litany of consequences including losing his mind, becoming an insane ruler and losing his throne.  He wound up eating grass in the field like a wild animal and sleeping under the night sky.  He became rather unkempt and haggard.  Even becoming like a bird with claws as his nails grew to great length and curled.

The mighty king was forced from ruling over his kingdom to exist like an animal in the field.  Persistent wickedness always has dire consequences, both in this world and forever in the eternal realm.  God always comes through on His prophecies, predictions, and promises as recorded in His Word.
