The Real Enemy
Ephesians 6:12 (KJB) For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
The real enemy is not a physical presence or continual struggle with another person on this earth.
The battle is not won among Democrats or Republicans or found in their swamp in Washington.
Our instituted among our spouse, kids, or found at work in issues and problems present among family members.
It is not because of a work-related problem we associated with the leadership of our boss.
The enemy has nothing to do with the state of our finances or our job.
The adversary is not to blame for our current state of emotions or our bleak physical existence in this world.
The real enemy is a spiritual force present in this world. This unseen opponent is fierce, dark, and wicked. He can stealthily creep into our lives, be hiding around the next corner, and can easily fool the spiritually unschooled or ignorant hearts in this world.
However, a child of God has been quickened alive, spiritually instructed, disciplined, and handed tremendous wisdom and the nature of God has been deposited in his heart and at work in his mind. He has no excuse for being caught up in satan’s games and gadgets in this world. God has given His own spiritual children every defensive battle armament and any necessary offensive moves to soundly defeat satan as he sojourns in this wicked world.
Just like in Job’s life, though his circumstances were depleted, and he is in a desert season, God is still present and powerful and has no limit for working in the lives of His spiritual family. God is able, in fact, He has already defeated satan and paved His grace-filled pathway for our walk with Him.
The real enemy at work in our lives is not the people around us, our family, our situation, or that which we can see with our eyes. The real enemy is spiritual in nature. God has soundly defeated satan and has gained eternal victory over any situation or person we may face in this world. Look to Him for armor, safety, direction, sustainment, and victory over any foe.
