The Royal Lineage
Matthew 1:1 (KJB) The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham.
Some people may equate reading the genealogy recorded in the first chapter of Matthew like perusing through an inch-thick instruction manual. The truth is the lineage of Jesus Christ is a fascinating read if you dig below the surface and get involved in the details. The more you understand the relationships and details as they are presented the more interesting these verses become.
It unravels ancient history from Abraham to Joseph. The listing includes three women, which is unheard of, for most often one’s lineage depended upon the birth right of men who were the head of the family. It is written from a Jewish perspective and extremely important in proving who and where a person originated from.
This line up portrays a royal light on the generation of Jesus Christ. It is about His kingdom rather than laying down a history of an earthly heritage.
