The Saints Arose
Matthew 27:52-53 (KJB) And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose, 53 And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many.
You hear about dead men walking in this world but the “dead men walking” in this verse were the saints of the Old Testament who had passed away, succumbing to their physical death in this world. They had no available pathway to reach God in the Old Testament times because of the power and presence of sin which was covered with the shedding of blood from animal sacrifices, but this was not sufficient to remove the power and presence of sin.
Because there was sin there was no available pathway for meeting with God in the eternal realm. It was not until Jesus Christ paved the way by His shed blood sacrifice which cleanses, or removes sin, that it was possible for a regenerated man and woman of God to be in spiritual fellowship with God in the eternal realm.
The dead saints from The Old Testament times arose from their graves the moment Jesus Christ was crucified. They were supernaturally raised with Him to reside forevermore in the eternal realm when Jesus Christ ascended to heaven to sit at the right hand of His Father God.
