Spiritual Roadmap to Success

2 Peter 1:3-8 (KJB)   According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:  4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.  5 And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;  6 And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;  7 And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.  8 For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

God provides everything mankind needs to live a successful spiritual life as he sojourns on this earth.  He provides a sure eternal future for all who rely upon His perfection, direction and correction as they navigate the stormy seas and darkness at work this world.  The journey is often littered with darkness and dry desert -like conditions but for the child of God is always defined by the attributes of God at work in the lives of His spiritual family.

The spiritual roadmap to success is defined and detailed in these verses inspired by God.  The spiritual journey begins with the Spirit of God living inside the softened heart of man.  It progresses with virtue, reliance, or faith, placed in the promises of God despite what can be seen, increasing knowledge of God and maturing in the faith, and the addition of various fruits of His Spirit including temperance, patience, kindness, and abounding charity especially for brothers and sisters in Christ and extending to all mankind.
