The World Reconciled Unto God
2 Corinthians 5:19 (KJB) To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
The world is reconciled to God through the finished spiritual work of Jesus Christ. Whew… that is a spiritual mouthful in this verse. This doctrine is essential for reconciliation with God in the eternal salvation of every spiritually softened soul.
Another straightforward way to say it- God took all sin, including yours and mine, and reconciled this debt as paid in full by the finished spiritual work of Jesus Christ on Calvary.
Imagine if you walked into your bank each month to pay your monthly mortgage payment, and one day you come in as usual and hand the teller your payment, and she gives the money back to you saying your mortgage debt is paid in full. Your account with the bank is clear of any remaining balance- and you did not pay the bill.
God sent His Only Son, Jesus Christ, to pay the sin debt of every being He created in full.
If you have personally heard the Truth of God and applied it in your heart (Romans 10:17), you are eternally reconciled with God. Yes, God made it possible to live in sweet fellowship with Him forever; however, each person must open His gift and apply it to his or her life.
