There is One God
For though there be that are called gods, whether in heaven or in earth, (as there be gods many, and lords many,) But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him. (1 Corinthians 8:5-6 KJV)
He is the one and only God. He is the God of both heaven and earth. The God of creation. The Father of all mankind. He is the God who is presented to us in His Word. He is The God of all and in all. He has unconditional love, mercy, and grace available to whosoever chooses to place faith in the finished work of the cross. He has a will for every man, and at this moment has bridled wrath against the nature of sin and darkness. However, one day He will unleash His wrath against all sin, unrighteousness, and ungodliness.
This biblically based picture of God is quite the opposite of what the world teaches. Many belief systems based in this world make false claims including that there are many gods who are equal in nature, gods are everywhere, and in everything and that all avenues in this world lead to God. God is often presented as a genie who eagerly listens to the needs and desires of man, making them happen despite man’s choice of lifestyle and putrid works. There is no call for a changed heart, to view sin as God sees it, or a demand for a man to live holy and righteous mirroring the nature of God. Instead, the popular message is “enjoy life and live uninhibited” giving no thought to the truth of an eternal meeting before God after one succumbs to his physical death.
There is One God of both heaven and earth who waters seeds of the gospel message planted in this world. God softens and changes the condition of hearts to house His very nature naturally laced with fervent love, holiness, and righteousness.
