Transfigured Before Him
Matthew 17:1-3 (KJB) And after six days Jesus taketh Peter, James, and John his brother, and bringeth them up into an high mountain apart, 2 And was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light. 3 And, behold, there appeared unto them Moses and Elias talking with him.
What an awesome and glorious sight transpired before Peter, James, and John who, out of all the disciples, these three received a personal invitation from Jesus to view this supernatural phenomenon.
Jesus Christ beckoned these three disciples to accompany Him to the top of a high mountain. It is not certain which mountaintop in the area the supernatural event took place, however, it was quite a spectacle for these chosen men to observe as Jesus Christ was transfigured before them and in considering the spiritual implications of, both now, then, and for the future.
Perhaps these three Apostles were chosen as eyewitnesses to this epic spiritual finish to Jesus Christ’s ancient mission from God on this earth because they were His closest, or “His Inner Circle.” Though there is no proof of this claim, it is true that there are often greater blessings and multiple spiritual rewards for those servants choosing to be obedient to God.
This event was certainly something supernaturally special for these three men of God to observe whatever the reason they were chosen to accompany Him to this mountaintop moment. More than that, this occurrence is a marvel for a man to ponder and consider today, including any for potential implications in the future.
