Troubling Times are an Opportunity to Elevate God
We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed; Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body. For we which live are alway delivered unto death for Jesus’ sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh. (2 Corinthians 4:8-11 KJV)
Life can be tough. Situations can seem to mount against us. The presence of the Spirit of God living inside of us allows nothing to press us beyond that which He allows.
Paul faced many bad situations and tough times. He was inspired of God to write about many perplexing experiences and dilemmas faced as he sojourned in this world. Paul is not speaking second hand about experiences gained through the lives of others. Paul is expressing intimate knowledge gained first hand in many diverse challenges faced in his own life.
Paul encourages mankind to remain afloat in a world flooded with many dark and evil circumstances. He brings the regenerate man to the understanding that he will face times of great turmoil and trouble as he bears the death of Jesus Christ for the purpose of giving Him all the glory.
