Unbalanced Will and Walk
James 1:8 (KJB) A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.
Physically speaking, since I have broken my feet four times (twice on both feet), and each time happened in a different place, I can certainly understand a person being unstable when he or she is walking. Especially on days when my feet are inflexible and stubborn, not bending as naturally as God divinely created them to from birth.
Spiritually speaking, this verse tells us that a double-minded man, a man who has one foot planted in this world and the other hanging over the fence dangling towards God’s narrow pathway, is not steady or stable in his walk. It is not possible for a man to live entrenched in this world and successfully eternally serve God.
Instability in all a man’s ways is to be emotionally, spiritually, physically, and mentally unbalanced. Only a spiritually alignment with God can bring a man to stand and walk upon a perpetually firm foundation that only He can provide.
