Psalm 2:1 (KJB) Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?
This Psalm points forward to a time of great peace in the future during the millennial reign of Jesus Christ upon this earth.
However, this scripture verse is looking backwards to the past observing a time of great terror and wickedness during the tribulation period now concluded. The heathen raged in a state of unbridled wickedness and evil on this earth. There were no boundaries or limits at work to restrain the devil and his minions. Evil is the rule of the land.
The inhabitants of a later era can look back to wicked events of the past with a big sigh of relief that such a period has ended.
However, a descriptive account of a blatantly evil incident to come can be downright scary to even imagine indeed.
