Wake Up And Be Sober!
1 Thessalonians 5:6-7 (KJV) Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober. For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night.
This scripture points out a sad state of affairs among some professing Christians living in this world. The truth I that some souls who profess to have a personal spiritual relationship with Christ are failing to live up to their public profession of faith.
What do I mean by that?
It is easier to speak about knowing Christ than it is to identify with Him sincerely and to grow inside a personal spiritual relationship with Him. Maturing in Christ requires that a humbled soul chooses to put his words into action. This action means that instead of falling asleep at the wheel, so to speak, a regenerated soul will leap off the proverbial fence and put his beliefs into light and action among lost souls in this corrupt world.
True believers are willing and excited to move from hiding or sleeping in the darkness of this world to stand in the light of Christ acting as a billboard among lost and needy spiritual souls. God expects His spiritual family to rise from sleep to action, bringing Him all the glory and honor.
