We Are All Winners, Not

Hebrews 12:1-2 (KJB) Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, 2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Hebrews 12:1-2 speaks of running a race, enduring in the middle of the heat, and ending with a spectacular flag-waving finish. This spiritual race has great rewards now and especially in the “Eternal Winners Circle.”

Sadly, though, today many in this world are involved in a world based “rat race” with all participants expecting to get trophies for their participation upon crossing the finish line.  There are no real winners or losers in this race as every person gets rewarded for his or her participation.

However, the kind of race the Apostle Paul speaks of in this scripture verse is much different.  It is a divine supernatural racing.  Further, the expectation that everyone will win in this race is quite misleading.

God does not hand out trophies to all participants. Not everyone will “R.I.P.”  There is both a heaven and a hell.  Not every soul receives an invitation to attend the eternal crowning ceremony in heaven.  There are both eternal winners and losers.  It is important you understand that every loser with a lost spiritual heart will not attend any eternal reward ceremony, for he or she will be dully rewarded for their chosen disobedience by burning in the fires of hell forevermore.

On the other hand, those seeking true peace with God only found in the fuel of faith Romans 5:1, (rather than from exerting physical strength in works) is crowned an eternal winner. An eternal win and supernaturally receiving God’s trophy requires a personal relationship with God.

It is true, all other participants will lose in eternity and must reside in Hell forever.

Heaven contains a divine “Winners Circle” of souls who will enjoy sweet fellowship with God forever. If a person chooses to opt out and not participate in God’s spiritual race beginning in this world, he or she will not find themselves in line to receive God’s perpetual prize, but rather be set aside in the fires of Hell with every spiritual loser upon their physical death.
