Were Very Attentive

Luke 19:47-48 (KJB) And he taught daily in the temple. But the chief priests and the scribes and the chief of the people sought to destroy him, 48 And could not find what they might do: for all the people were very attentive to hear him.

The chief priests, scribes, and leaders were beside themselves as they so desired to put an immediate halt to this message and to destroy any possibility that he could continue spreading his mantra to the people.  The big problem with doing this was that the people were intently interested in what Jesus had to say, described here as very attentive to his message.

Yes, you know and understand that the message of Jesus pulls at the strings of hearts.  It begs the listener to become personally involved, and if Jesus desires to get the attention of a heart or hearts, there is nothing that any person can do to stop it!

However, people can choose to mute Jesus and to disregard Him and not to apply His Word into their lives personally.  That is until they meet with Him face to face upon entry into eternity and naturally bow before Him.

These ancient leaders were beside themselves with disdain towards Jesus and looked for a way to remove Him and his message from the pulpit.  This desire has not wained in evil leaning hearts to this day.  However, God’s word given through His Son is timeless and not ever permanently squelched by any attempt by humanity to silence it.
