What Do You Treasure?

Matthew 6:19-21 (KJV) Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

These verses speak about what a person cherishes. Indeed, you understand that what a person treasures align with the spiritual state of his or her heart.  A person with a lost spiritual state of heart chooses to treasure different things than does a regenerated soul.

Any soul who cherishes God foremost will have his state of the heart set on things with eternal significance, especially in celebrating in the Christmas season.  A sincere child of God’s treasure lies in savoring and serving God in eternal weighted matters.  This statement starkly contrasts the state of a lost soul who places importance on the issues of this world, which will not last forever.

I hope that you treasure God and things with an eternal nature and are willing to release your grip on matters and materials of this world.  Any person who sets his or her heart on earthly issues will be sorely disappointed in the eternal realm one day soon.  Take time this holiday season to tell others about the lasting goodness and grace available from God.
